As soon as we drove the first Scirocco we knew that the standard suspension hardware provided a very good set up for normal road driving. 

However, we quickly got to work on developing some enhancements for fast road and track work, using much of our experience of the Golf mk5 platform over the previous 4 years.

Whilst much of the 'hardware' of the Scirocco is similar to the Golf, the very different weights and roll centres (the Scirocco is around 150kgs lighter on the back wheels than the Golf) mean that it is impossible to use Golf suspension and spring/damper rates on the Scirocco.
