► Engine Remapping
Upgraded Engine Remaps are available from £510.63 plus VAT, installed by our Volkswagen Racing technicians in Blakelands, Milton Keynes.
We can offer a full range of upgraded engine maps for the current range of Volkswagen Group products fitted with turbocharged petrol or diesel engines. These all give a noticeable increase in power, torque and importantly driveability, yet do not compromise engine life nor fuel economy. All of our engine mapping is developed to take a cautious approach to preserving reliability and economy, and to staying within the limits of the car’s mechanical components and cooling system. We do not strive for high ‘headline’ power outputs, preferring instead to use our racing experience to optimise the torque levels that modern turbo engines can produce so readily, be they petrol or diesel.
For the Golf GTI 2.0TFSI 200PS (and other cars using this engine - A3, Leon, Octavia, Jetta etc) we have 3 stages of exclusive Volkswagen Racing Engine Remaps that we have developed.
► Stage One uses the exact mapping that our race GTIs use, delivering 240bhp with torque optimised to deliver exceptional flexibility yet retaining the economy of the standard car in normal road use. When combined with the Volkswagen Racing Rear Exhaust, the difference from the standard car is really noticeable, particularly in the mid-range of the rev band.
► Stage Two requires the full Volkswagen Racing Exhaust, high flow catalytic converter and downpipe to be fitted. This can then take the engine output to 268bhp. This is of course a very dramatic transformation from the standard car, and gives a much stronger power delivery at the top end of the engine’s rev range. This is the map that we have used successfully on many road and track cars.
► Stage Three is the ultimate development of the 2.0
TFSI engine, delivering an astonishing 290bhp.
This is the maximum output that can be reliably achieved
without very major modifications to the engine’s
internals. This is generally only offered to
customers who also select the ‘VWR 290R’ Volkswagen Racing
Stage 3 Package from us, meaning that other aspects of
the car’s performance and durability are uprated to
match the exceptional performance of the car. This
power level is delivered by replacing the fuel injectors
and the turbocharger, together with the full Volkswagen
Racing exhaust and catalytic converter. The
bigger turbo surprisingly gives no more lag than the standard
car and is carefully set up to be entirely appropriate
for everyday road use, unlike some heavily modified
turbo engines.
Customers with the Golf GTI Edition 30, Audi S3 or Seat Lean Cupra, we have developed mapping to take your car up to 275bhp or even an impressive 320bhp.
