► DRIVETRAIN UPGRADES
Increased power alone will not make for a fulfilling, nor quick, nor reliable car. This is a lesson that racing has taught us well.
So to harness your power increases, and transfer
that power to the road where you need it, Volkswagen
Racing has a range of upgrades to the drivetrain
developed from our racing programme that will help
you get the most out of the car, and crucially give
additional durability. 
We have uprated clutches that are essential for larger power outputs on the manual car.
The limited slip differentials, developed for
both manual and DSG gearboxes will limit wheelspin,
particularly when exiting corners under power.
We have engineered a set of engine mounts that
will securely locate the engine when being driven
hard and remove the feeling of ‘slack’ when you come
on and off the power. Upgrading these mounts
also will protect the drivetrain from excessive
vibrations that can easily lead to failures on
hard-driven cars. 
And a quickshift gear linkage as used on the race cars will help you locate your next gear quickly and cleanly, and also add to your driving enjoyment.
► FRONT SPOILER
We discovered early on in the development of the race Golf mk5 that at high speed (in common with most production cars), aerodynamic lift starts to reduce the car’s stability quite noticeably.
For the GTI, we developed the Volkswagen Racing Front Splitter which diverts much of the airflow around the car, rather than underneath it. This makes a noticeable difference to how ‘planted’ the car feels at speed.
Developed for the racing programme, the front
spoiler is easily fitted to road cars. It is
made of strong PU plastic, so will withstand minor
impacts well. However, it should be noted that
on a road car, some additional care may be needed on
speed humps and against kerbs!
The Other VWR Parts only fits Golfs with the GTI style front bumper (so GTI, GT Sport and Jetta models).
► SEAT UPGRADES
One of the most important aspects for an
enthusiastic driver is the ability of your seat to
hold you in place during high-speed driving, both
for comfort and safety.
Volkswagen Racing has a long-term partership with RECARO and can offer an upgrade to the Sportster CS seat. This is the same seat that is a factory option on the GTI and R32, and has a fold/adjustable backrest.
We have a subframe that allows this seat to be fitted into current VWG products, which retains the seat-belt buckle and pre-tensioner system. The seat is available in a variety of cloth and leather finishes to keep a ‘factory’ look to your interior.
